Liza Pogorelov
Chief Operating Officer
Liza Pogorelov joined Jewish Kids Groups in April 2026 as Chief Operating Officer, where she leads organizational strategy, strengthens internal systems, and supports a growing team as JKG expands access to quality Jewish education nationwide. She came to JKG after 15 years as a management and strategy consultant to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she stood up and led large, multi-disciplinary public health programs on issues ranging from environmental health to overdose, suicide, and violence prevention. With a background in operations, process design, and organizational development, Liza works to ensure JKG's growth and long-term sustainability. She is passionate about building a workplace culture rooted in authenticity and accountability, and about helping teams — and the individuals on them — thrive.
Liza holds a Master of Public Health from Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and earned her BS in Journalism and BA in Russian Language from the University of Florida. Prior to her consulting career, Liza worked in international public health and development — including with the AIDS Foundation East-West in Moscow and as a grant writer and editor for UN agencies across Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Central Asia — focusing on HIV treatment and prevention initiatives.
Outside of JKG, Liza loves adventures with her 9-year-old daughter Ella, a JKG alum, along with traveling, exploring new neighborhoods and local cafes, and photography.
