JKG Full Day Teacher
Position Hours
Mondays-Fridays, 9:00-5:00pm
This is a short term assignment (9-12 weeks) with opportunity for permanent employment in our after school program if schools return to in-person instruction.
Roles & Responsibilities
At JKG, we focus on providing an experiential and fun Jewish education for our students. We accomplish this with the safety of our students and team members as a top priority. We adhere to strict guidelines established by the Center for Disease Control, as well as public health officials and trusted medical professionals. JKG is a ridiculously cool place to work: inspiring colleagues, supportive leadership team, and fun-loving kids.
As a teacher at JKG, your responsibilities include providing support for students participating in virtual learning through their elementary school, leading Jewish enrichment activities, and playing a proactive role in maintaining a safe and sanitary physical space. Responsibilities also include:
Schoolwork: Support students in completing their respective online classes, ensuring that they are on track with learning objectives, and routinely assist with homework assignments.
Work with the site Director and fellow teachers to facilitate snack and lunch time, playground time, group activities, Jewish studies lessons, and z’man kehilla (community circle) for students
Model all safety protocols established by JKG with regard to COVID-19, without exception, including modeling of safe practices and daily cleaning/disinfecting of the physical space.
Collaborate with co-teachers and director to design and implement classroom management systems and behavior management strategies
Engage parents as appropriate.
Follow and build upon JKG’s Jewish Values Curriculum Map and Learning Goals to create and/or lead peulot (activities) and Hebrew lesson plans that are content-rich, experiential, and fun
Contribute ideas for and help prepare and lead Z’man Kehilah
Communicate pertinent issues/information regarding students, parents, and Afterschool program to director in-person, via email, and via Slack.

Position Type and Wage: Hourly, $20 per hour
Location: Positions available in Morningside, Decatur, Sandy Springs.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum of 2 year’s experience working with children
Ability to abide by JKG Community and CDC COVID-19 guidelines while working with children
Strong connection to Jewish tradition
Familiar with Hebrew, highly creative, and passionate about kids’ learning
Must be a flexible thinker, facilitator, team player and creative.
JKG Sunday Job Opportunities
JKG Sunday Lead Teacher
Responsibilities:
Reviews and executes weekly Sunday lessons that align with age-appropriate learning goals in a fun, experiential, and interactive way. Experiential lessons are provided for each class day.
Implement classroom management systems and behavior management strategies for your class
Happily greet and engage with parents during drop-off and pick-up
Communicate pertinent issues/information regarding students and program to the director on a weekly basis
Placed with the same class for the whole school year
Rate:
$25 per hour
JKG Sunday Assistant Teacher
Responsibilities:
Reviews and executes weekly Sunday lessons that align with age-appropriate learning goals in a fun, experiential, and interactive way. Experiential lessons are provided for each class day.
Assist the lead teacher with implementing lessons by helping with student behavior, supplies, instruction, etc.
Happily greet and engage with parents during drop-off and pick-up
Communicate pertinent issues/information regarding students and program to the director on a weekly basis
Placed with the same class for the whole school year.
Rate:
$15 per hour
JKG Sunday Floater Teacher or Floater Assistant Teacher
Responsibilities:
Fills in the role they are needed most any given week, either as a teacher (teaching the weekly Sunday lesson) or assistant teacher (helping to facilitate the weekly Sunday lessons).
Happily greet and engage with parents during drop-off and pick-up
Communicate pertinent issues/information regarding students and program to the director on a weekly basis
Floaters are placed every Sunday but can be placed in different classes each Sunday.
Rate:
Floater Teacher $22 per hour / Floater Assistant Teacher $12 per hour.
JKG Sunday Substitute Teacher
Responsibilities:
Reviews and executes weekly Sunday lessons that align with age-appropriate learning goals in a fun, experiential, and interactive way. Experiential lessons are provided for each class day.
Happily greet and engage with parents during drop-off and pick-up
Substitutes are reached out to when there is a need.
Rate:
Substitute Lead Teacher and Substitute Assistant Teacher $20 per hour.

Dates: 26 Sundays per year, from August to May (calendar here)
Hours: 8:30am – 12:45pm
Ages Served: Preschool (2.5 years old) through 7th Grade

Afterschool Community Job Opportunities
The JKG Afterschool Community is a completely unique place for kids to play and learn. We offer the services of a premium afterschool program with a full, experiential Hebrew school curriculum. We are, as our name implies, a joyful Jewish community. This will inform the way you execute all of your duties as a JKG teacher.
JKG Afterschool Teacher (On hold until on-site programming resumes)
Plan meaningful, engaging activities that reflect specific learning goals. You’ll have the JKG Curriculum Map to guide you, and you'll be surrounded by a smart and inspiring group of peer educators.
Create and facilitate Hebrew lessons through games, activities, and movement.
Run the show in homeroom, homework time, and playground time.
Complete tasks under the direction of the JKG Afterschool Director. Among them:
Document lesson plans
Participate in monthly staff meetings and collaborative teacher planning meetings
Attend holiday celebrations and promotional events (such as open houses, festival booths, etc.)
Play active role in daily preparation
Drive the JKG van daily to pick up students from local schools
Position Details: Hourly, Monday-Thursday, 12:30pm-6:15pm and Friday 12:30pm-5:15pm (exact days depending on location)
Grades Served: PreK-5th grade
Qualifications: Able to teach basic Hebrew and Judaic Studies.
Rate: Hourly, $20 per hour
Locations: Morningside, Brookhaven, Decatur, and Sandy Springs.

Assistant Teacher
How you will contribute to JKG: Assist lead teacher in any classroom needs (including, but not limited to, one-on-one student help, prepping a classroom activity, running an activity, playing games with students, helping with any individual child needs, providing extra attention and assistance to specific students, reporting on significant incidences, etc.)
Specialty Teacher
How you will contribute to JKG: Do you have a special skill? We love offering unique learning opportunities to our students. Your skill set and generosity will allow us to expose our students to diverse educational programming.

Specialized Assistant Teacher
How you will contribute to JKG: Assist assigned students who require extra support to navigate through the JKG day. Responsibilities and expectations are set by the student’s family and will be communicated by the Director to the Specialized Assistant Teacher.
Shira Leader (song leader)
How you will contribute to JKG: Lead JKG students in shira time which includes singing songs, dancing, and whole group learning about Jewish holidays. Preferred that you play an instrument, but definitely not required!
JKG Jr Teacher
How you will contribute to JKG: Setup the classroom and follow JKG Jr. lesson plans to conduct the program with participants. Lead session for the parent-and-child participants through singing songs and guiding the activity stations. Clean up classroom after program each Sunday.
Guest Reader
How you will contribute to JKG: facilitating an interactive story-time with JKG students, engaging JKG students in new and exciting ways.
OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
Lesson Planner (remote):
How you will contribute to JKG: Create and/or revise JKG’s preschool to 7th grade lessons in Judaics and/or Hebrew.
