A Day at JKG Afterschool
While every day at JKG Afterschool brings new adventures and specifics
vary by location, most days follow a schedule that looks like this:
Monday-Thursday
2:30-2:45 - Arrival: JKG teachers greet your child at school and bring them to JKG.
2:45-3:30 - Table Time (Shulchanot): Children arrive and unwind like they are walking into their own home. Some kids head outside while others play a game with a friend, start on homework, or color independently.
3:30-3:50 - Snack Time (Nishnushim): Students enjoy a healthy snack like pita chips and hummus, fruit, or veggies. We say the blessing, talk with teachers and friends, and listen to stories.
3:50-4:20 - Hebrew Time (Ivrit): You won’t see JKG teachers standing in front of a chalkboard. Our interactive lessons inspire students to learn Hebrew through sports, art, and games.
4:20-4:30 - Community Time (Z’man Kehila): Each day we come together to sing songs, appreciate friends, and celebrate birthdays.
4:30-5:00 - Activity Time: Students learn about Jewish culture, holidays, values, history, and traditions through art, cooking, sports, gardening, drama, and other fun activities.
5:00-5:15 - Playground Time (Hasakah): Let’s go outside!
5:15-6:00 - Homework (She’uray Bayit) and Independent Play: Students do homework or finish the day with an independent choice activity like rainbow loom, play dough, or watercolor painting.
6:00 - Departure: It’s time to go home. Parents pick up students at JKG.
