JKG Sunday Old Fourth Ward Leadership Team
Tova Baruch, Sunday Site Director, JKG Old Fourth Ward
Tova is from Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with her BFA and Georgia State University with her MAT. She is the design teacher at Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School and was a history teacher at Drew Charter School. She also volunteered as the photography counselor at Camp Sunshine.
Tova enjoys hiking, cooking, reading, photography, and spending time with her daughters.
Tova is most excited to connect with Atlanta’s Jewish community.
JKG Sunday Old Fourth Ward Preschool Teaching Team
Tal Ben-Yishai, Lead Teacher
Tal is a 3rd year student at Georgia State University originally from Israel. She has worked in the preschool class at JKG for two years, and also substitute teaches at the Weinstein School at the MJCCA and works at Club J Afterschool.
Tal enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and hanging out with friends and family.
Tal is excited to get to know her students and to get them excited to learn in a fun way!
Sarah Golden, Assistant Teacher
Sarah is a third year student at Georgia Tech, originally from Johns Creek, GA. She studies industrial and systems engineering and Spanish. Before coming to JKG, she worked as a counselor at MJCCA Camp Isadore Alterman, an assistant teacher at MJCCA Camp Sunday, and an instructor at GT Kids Club, teaching STEM.
Sarah enjoys cooking, going to the gym, tennis, and traveling.
Sarah is excited to spend Sunday mornings with an awesome group of kids, and to play games and activities that will further their Jewish knowledge.

Ruthie Stolovitz, Lead Teacher
Ruthie is a sophomore at the Weber School, returning for her second year at JKG. Before JKG, she also babysat.
Ruthie enjoys playing volleyball, volunteering at the Friendship Circle, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog.
Ruthie is excited to meet her new students and form connections with them!
JKG Sunday Old Fourth Ward Kindergarten Teaching Team
Meechal Lovett, Lead Teacher
Meechal is a freshman at Georgia State University originally from Atlanta. She worked at JKG two years ago, first as an assistant teacher and then as a teacher. She has also worked as a counselor at a summer camp called Camp Shamayim.
Meechal enjoys sports and music. She also really loves traveling to new places and learning about other cultures. Meechal is excited to be back with the JKG team and make her students excited about Israel and Jewish values!
JKG Sunday Old Fourth Ward 1st Grade Teaching Team
Yael Lovett, Lead Teacher
Yael is a senior at Temima, and is so excited to be the Lead Teacher in the 1st grade class at JKG this year. Yael was the Kindergarten assistant teacher at JKG last year, and has also worked for two summers at Camp Bee Jay.
Yael enjoys singing, acting, playing sports, playing ukulele, baking, cooking, and reading.
Yael is excited to teach her students how great it is to be Jewish!
JKG Sunday Old Fourth Ward 2nd Grade Teaching Team
Jordyn Danowitz, Lead Teacher
Jordyn is a student at Georgia State University. She has worked for JKG for three years and has loved her experience here. She has also worked as a babysitter for kids of all ages since she was 14.
Jordyn enjoys theater, arts and crafts, and having fun! This year, Jordyn is most excited to get to know her students and help them discover their Jewish heritage.
Eliana Lovett, Assistant Teacher
Eliana is a student at the Mercer University College of Pharmacy. Last year, she worked as a Specialized Assistant Teacher in the 3rd grade class at JKG Brookhaven.
Eliana enjoys all things artistic and she reads voraciously. She is excited to see old friends and make new ones this year. She is especially excited to have a great time with her students!
JKG Sunday Old Fourth Ward 3rd Grade Teaching Team
Sydney Popsuj, Lead Teacher
Sydney is a senior at Agnes Scott college studying biology. She is originally from Boston, Massachusetts. This will be her second year at JKG. Apart from JKG, she also worked as a children’s ski instructor for three years.
Sydney is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Mandarin. In her spare time, she serves as president of two honor societies at her school, is an academic advisor for incoming students in STEM, tutors students taking math and biology courses, and works on two biology research projects.
Sydney is very excited to help her students learn about their religion and continue to form their own unique identities within Judaism.
Sydney Jackson, Assistant Teacher
Sydney is in 12th grade at Grady High School. This will be her second year at JKG, and she has also worked as a camp counselor at In the City Camp, a local Jewish camp.
Sydney enjoys arts and crafts. She can't wait to work with all of her students, teach them about fun Jewish topics, and make them excited to come to JKG!
JKG Sunday Old Fourth Ward 4th Grade Teaching Team
Rachel Weinstock, Lead Teacher
Rachel is currently a PhD student at Georgia State University studying psychology with a goal to become a child clinical psychologist. She has already completed a BA at Cornell University as well as a MA at Georgia State University. Previously, she has worked with children between the ages of 3-9 as a camp counselor in New York City.
Rachel loves working with kids, being outside, vegetarian cooking, and reading.
Rachel is most excited to help children develop their own Jewish identities through JKG!
JKG Sunday Old Fourth Ward 5th Grade Teaching Team
Zev Frankel, Lead Teacher
Zev is in his second year at Georgia State University. He has worked with Playball for 5 years working with children between the ages of 2 and 6. He has also worked for Bricks 4 Kidz for 2 years.
Zev enjoys playing all sports, connecting with kids, and being a role model for children.
Zev is most excited about being the lead teacher of his own class at JKG!
JKG Sunday Old Fourth Ward 6th Grade Teaching Team
Noa Shapiro-Franklin, Lead Teacher
Noa is a Senior at Emory, originally from Woodbridge, Connecticut. She has worked as a counselor at day camps and at Camp Havaya, a Jewish overnight camp.
Noa studies neuroscience at Emory, and is interested in public health and Israel education. She loves to bring fun into whatever she is doing!
Noa is excited to meet and learn a the awesome JKG kids.

Madison Neidorf, Lead Teacher
Madison is a Senior at Georgia State University studying psychology. She was a Madricha (counselor) at Congregation Dor Tamid, a camp counselor at In the City Camp (a local Jewish summer day camp) and is a language tutor at Georgia State University.
Madison is excited to help better the Sunday school experience for young Jewish people, and is excited to be involved in the B'nei Mitzvah ceremony planning with her students this year.
