Mackenzie Sherman, Sunday Site Director, JKG Dunwoody
Mackenzie Sherman was born and raised in Atlanta. He graduated from Kennesaw State University with a B.S. in Psychology and a concentration in applied statistics. He is currently the Assistant Director of Camp Isidore Alterman and Specialty Camps at the Marcus JCC in Atlanta. In the past he has worked as a neurodevelopmental teacher at Jacob’s Ladder Neurodevelopmental Learning Center in Roswell, GA. He has also worked as a JKG Site Director before.
Mackenzie loves any outdoor activity. He enjoys hiking, Atlanta sports teams, and good books.
Mackenzie is excited to see JKG integrated at the JCC, and is so excited to reunite with the JKG team and bring a great program to a great network of people at the JCC.
JKG Sunday Dunwoody at MJCCA Pre-K/Kindergarten Teaching Team
Malka Shulman, Lead Teacher
Malka is originally from Atlanta, GA. This is her 3rd year teaching at JKG. Before JKG, she taught Montessori preschool for 10 years, worked at Jewish sleepaway camps in New Hampshire and New York, ran her own backyard camp for 2 years, and has been working with children since age 12.
Malka enjoys real estate, art, cooking, health, and DIY projects.
Malka is looking forward to being at a new location and meeting new families.
Aden Dori, Assistant Teacher
Aden is in 10th grade at Atlanta Jewish Academy. She spent last year working as an Pre-K assistant teacher at JKG’s Old Fourth Ward Location. She also has experience babysitting and working with kids at her shul on Shabbat.
Aden loves sports, reading, and hanging out with her friends and family. She is super excited to meet the students at the JKG’s Dunwoody location and form new connections and bonds with the kids.

Ariel Sirota, Assistant Teacher
Ariel is a senior at Atlanta Jewish Academy who has worked for JKG for a year and a half. She first worked as a rotating assistant teacher and then moved into a Pre-K class at JKG’s Old Fourth Ward location. She has also worked at In the City Camp as a Junior Counselor, and has run learning groups at her synagogue for boys from Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
Ariel likes art, writing, babysitting, cooking, and all sports. She is really excited to continue to work with young children and helping to make JKG the best it can be.

Lindsay Kraun, Assistant Teacher
Lindsay is a graduate student studying Occupational Therapy at Georgia State University. She is originally from Atlanta, and has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Tampa.
Lindsay currently works at Club J at the MJCCA, and she has worked at the JCC’s Day Camps for six years. She enjoys reading and writing.
Lindsay is excited to meet all of the kids and help them grow their Jewish identities.

Jake Lipsiner, Lead Teacher
Jake is originally from East Cobb Marietta, Georgia, and he has a degree in Exercise Science from Kennesaw State University. Last year, he worked as an assistant teacher at JKG and a substitute teacher in the JKG Afterschool Community. Before JKG, Jake worked for four summers at the JCC Camp Isadore Alterman. He has many years of experience working with all age groups.
Jake has a deep passion for personal health and wellness, as well as staying close with friends and family. He is a true Atlanta sports fan, and he enjoys hiking, kayaking, playing tennis. He also loves photography, traveling, and discovering new great restaurants.
Jake is most excited about teaching new and returning students lessons on Judaism and watching how the students grow from the beginning to the end of the year. He is excited to lead his own class and to have a great second year at JKG!
JKG Sunday Dunwoody at MJCCA 4th Grade Teaching Team
Linoy Celolichin, Lead Teacher
Linoy is a 12th grader at South Forsyth High School. She has been involved in the Israeli Scouts for 4 years, and she also works at the Big Creek Elementary Afterschool program.
Linoy is charismatic and passionate about teaching children. She has a deep interest in arts and crafts, and creative techniques in teaching.
Linoy is most excited to teach children from all backgrounds while learning about more Jewish culture herself.
JKG Sunday Dunwoody at MJCCA 5th Grade Teaching Team
Maya Tau, Lead Teacher
Maya Tau is a Senior at Alpharetta High School. She has been a counselor in the Israeli Scouts for the past two years. She was a teen director for a camp in Israel this summer.
Maya is an energetic and a free spirit, who thinks quickly on her feet.
Maya is excited to work with the 5th graders, as well as the younger kids. She knows JKG is going to be a great experience!
JKG Sunday Dunwoody at MJCCA Rotating Assistant Teachers and Floaters
Linda Leman, Rotating Assistant Teacher
Linda grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She moved to Atlanta in 1991. She attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for two years, where she studied education. Linda homeschooled her 8 children from 1996 to present from Kindergarten through High school. She also worked as a teacher for Shabbat school from 2001-2015, and then served as the Children’s Director.
Linda likes to garden, ice skate, swim, hike, kayak, and bike. She enjoys Jewish dance and knows some sign language. She can read and write Hebrew.
Linda is looking forward to getting to know the children!
Opal Sivan, Rotating Assistant Teacher
Opal is a Junior at Alpharetta High School, originally from Israel. Last year, she was a counselor for 4th grade girls in the Israeli Scouts. This year, she is a counselor for 7th grade. As a counselor for the Israeli scouts, Opal writes activities for the kids and supervising them at camp.
Opal can speak Hebrew fluently. In her free time, she writes, dances, and reads. She is very interested in the arts.
Opal is excited to work with the JKG kids and teach them about holidays and Hebrew.
Shai Shalev, Rotating Assistant Teacher
Shai is in 12th grade at Chattahoochee High School. In addition to working at JKG, Shai is part of the Israel Scouts, where she has been a counselor, a head counselor, and is now the president.
Shai loves coding, reading, and being with friends. She is excited about getting to work with children and education Jewish kids from many different backgrounds.
Aliza Abusch-Magder, Floater
Aliza is a junior at the Weber School. Before working at JKG, she worked as a counselor in training at Camp Ramah in California during the summer of 2017.
Aliza enjoys philosophy, sociology, weightlifting, and singing. She is excited to work with kids and to be a role model for them.
