This week was extra cool--we had a very special guest visit the Afterschool Community, author Kerri Golding Oransky. She talked to our students about her book, Don't Be Your Own Bully, which teaches kids how to identify and combat negative thoughts. Purchase your copy here! Also, our students continued settling into their Ivrit (Hebrew) groups, completing mitzvahs (good deeds), and learning about Torah stories. Take a peek at our week below!

Hebrew roundup! On the left, one of our students proudly displays a word search he created with our classroom vocabulary. The students on the right worked on spelling out Hebrew words with play-doh.
This week in cooking, we made our challah dough together. Here, one of our older students helps measure out ingredients.
As an extra special treat, our ridiculously cool substitute teacher Sam did a shira song and dance time peulah (activity). Our students had a BLAST!
We continued learning about the days of creation. Our students created pictures of darkness and light, heaven and earth, stars, and creatures of all kind.
Check back with us next week as we begin our unit on Rosh Hashanah!
