In August we embarked on a year-long pen pal program with students from the Daliot School in Israel. The Daliot School is in Yokneam-Megiddo, Atlanta’s sister city. The pen pal program, named Kesher (connection), is part of a larger, community wide initiative to connect Jewish kids in the United States with kids in Israel. Kesher is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. Learn more here.
JKG students sent their first letters in September and we are so excited to have received our first letters from our Israeli pen pals yesterday! Find some examples of some of our JKG students' letters below, as well as one from Sophie Silverman’s Israeli pen pal who wrote in English!
Students are saving letters in their very own Same Moon books, which they will bring home at the end of the year. Kids in Israel have the same ones!
